Joy in the Morning

Scripture (ESV): “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” — Psalm 30:5

Pain is real. Tears are real. But so is God’s promise of joy. Psalm 30:5 reminds us that sorrow has a time limit—it may last for the night, but joy is on the horizon.

David penned this psalm after experiencing deep lows and triumphant highs. He knew what it felt like to cry through the night, but he also knew the faithfulness of God to bring restoration.

Trials are temporary. God’s joy is eternal. Darkness doesn’t last forever; light always breaks through. Even when the night feels long, dawn is certain.

This verse is not just poetic—it’s prophetic. It declares hope over despair, renewal over exhaustion, and laughter over mourning.

Prayer:
“Lord, thank You that no matter how long the night feels, joy is promised with the morning. Strengthen me to endure seasons of sorrow with hope in Your restoration.”

Next Step:
If you are in a difficult season, write down three things you can thank God for today. Gratitude invites joy even before the breakthrough.
